Tuba Elmas Francia

About me

My name is Tuba Elmas Francia, a psychologist (B.Sc.) with an international and intercultural background.

I was born in Rüsselsheim am Main and grew up in a culturally rich, cosmopolitan home where humanity, love, and respect shaped everyday life from an early age. These innermost values form the foundation of my life and my psychological journey. Based on this framework, I have developed a perspective on humanity that is underpinned by empathy, dignity, and genuine connection.

I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology at the renowned Long Island University in New York. This degree is officially recognized in Germany and is equivalent to a German B.Sc. in psychology. During my studies, I volunteered at North Shore University Hospital (Northwell Health) in Manhasset, New York, where I gained valuable insight into psychological work in a clinical setting.

A particularly formative experience was a behavioral psychology research semester in Costa Rica, where I studied the social behavior of dolphins. This intensive experience permanently sharpened my sense of nonverbal communication and social dynamics.

I also gained practical clinical experience through internships at the German Hospital and the American Hospital in Istanbul. There, I worked in an interdisciplinary environment alongside specialists and therapists, further expanding my knowledge through direct patient contact.

To further expand my psychological profile, I first had the opportunity to complete a summer semester at John Cabot University in Rome. There, I focused intensively on adolescence psychology. Through this practice-oriented program, I deepened my understanding of psychological development during adolescence, identity formation, emotional regulation, as well as the social and cultural factors influencing this sensitive life stage.

Following that, I completed another international semester at the prestigious Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. As part of the course “Close Relationships,” I gained comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge about attachment processes, relationship dynamics, and interpersonal interactions. This experience significantly enhanced my ability to understand human behavior and social relationships.

As part of my Master's studies in Clinical Psychology at London Metropolitan University, I am currently expanding my professional expertise and therapeutic competencies in the field of psychotherapy in Germany (Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie).

After a conscious phase of my life in which I dedicated myself to raising my children, I am now embarking on my professional future with fresh knowledge, a mature perspective, and great inner clarity.

I accompany people through transitional phases, stressful situations, and personal change processes – with professional expertise, cultural sensitivity, and a profound human touch. With my native German, English, and Turkish skills, as well as my international and clinical experience, I offer psychological support that connects, strengthens, and opens new perspectives.

What is psychological counseling?

Psychological counseling provides professional support for people experiencing challenging life situations, stress, or personal changes. It provides a space to reflect on problems, thoughts, and feelings and to jointly develop new perspectives and solutions.

In contrast to psychotherapy, which is often used for mental illnesses, psychological counseling focuses on strengthening resources, better coping with everyday life and achieving personal goals.

Counseling can help with issues such as stress management, life crises, conflicts, self-discovery, decision-making processes or improving interpersonal relationships.

The goal of psychological counseling is to encourage people to utilize their strengths, actively address challenges, and achieve greater satisfaction and well-being – always on an equal footing, empathetically, and individually tailored.

Promoting mental health through stress management and mindfulness.

Sensitive support during challenging phases of life.
Strengthening self-esteem,

Clarity & emotional stability.

Favorite quote

"Between stimulus and response lies a space. In this space lies our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
— Victor E. Frankl

This quote from psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor Viktor E. Frankl sums up what shapes my psychological approach: Within every human being lies the ability to encounter themselves anew—especially in moments of crisis. Healing, growth, and new direction arise in this inner space.

Confidentiality in psychological counseling

The protection of your personal information is my top priority. As a psychologist (B.Sc.), I am bound by professional secrecy and treat all the content of our conversations with the utmost confidentiality.

This means that everything you share with me during psychological counseling—your thoughts, feelings, life circumstances, or challenges—remains exclusively between us. No information will be shared with third parties without your express consent.

This confidentiality creates a safe space where openness, self-reflection, and genuine change are possible. It forms the basis for a trusting collaboration—respectful, discreet, and on equal terms.
